Lisa Marsh

I studied for 3½ years to become a Registered Nutritional Therapist at the highly regarded BCNH (British College of Nutrition and Health, accredited by the University of Greenwich) and consequently am a member of BANT (British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) and CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council). My training was rigorously rooted in evidence-based scientific research, so I am ideally placed to cut through the conflicting “health” messages (some helpful and some not so!) with which we are consistently bombarded by the media.

I am always asked what drew me to nutrition and I believe that is multi-factorial. Growing up in a large, busy family meant that I learnt to cook at a young age and meals were always taken together and often a focal point for large family gatherings, so – luckily for me – food has happy connotations. 

Once I had children of my own, I found the information given in the press, by healthcare workers and online to be confusing and sometimes conflicting.  Our eldest son was born with eczema and soon developed asthma and multiple food allergies with no previous family history of any of those conditions.  This led me to scrutinise ingredient labels, sometimes wondering what the unpronounceable and unspellable ingredients might be doing to all of us, not just my son, which swiftly brought me back to home cooking to avoid navigating the minefield of pre-prepared foods. 

Over the years, although I followed a completely different career path in travel and residential lettings, my constant questioning of “what’s healthy?” became more than just inquisitiveness and I decided to re-train as a Nutritional Therapist.  It has been a revolutionary change for our family with improved energy levels all round and appreciation for nutritious, tasty food.  I feel very honoured to be able to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with others. 

I take a holistic, wholly non-judgemental approach to a variety of health conditions including blood sugar issues (e.g pre- and Type-2 Diabetes), cholesterol concerns, hormonal imbalances, general fatigue, digestive issues such as bloating, constipation, IBS etc., allergies, sensitivities and intolerances. 

I like to see clients in person and I offer a quiet and private space in my garden studio at home in Hampshire, although virtual meetings can be an effective alternative for those living further afield. 

I offer several packages but all of them will start with an initial hour and a half session, where I will be on a fact-finding mission to get to the root of the issue, with the intention of guiding you towards optimal health using dietary and lifestyle advice.
